As you know, ICT, in conjunction with the campus initiative Accessible SU, has been promoting the need to make your documents accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or disability. ICT training has been delivering the campus training “Apply Accessibility to Office Documents and PDFs ” every month for over two years. Many people at the Maxwell School have attended this training and learned how they can meet accessibility standards by making just a few changes to the way they develop a document. If you have not attended this training, you can visit the ICT Events page to see upcoming training dates and read a description.

For those who have attended the “Apply Accessibility to Office Documents and PDFs ” session, ICT Training is now offering training to review/practice what you learned.

During this hands-on training session, you will work on a Word document and review the following topics:

  • Working with Style Headings
  • Applying true bullets
  • Setting images to In Line with Text
  • Applying Alt Text to objects, such as tables and images
  • Changing the Displayed Text for a hyperlink
  • Apply accessibility to a PDF

The “Build an Accessible Document – Review” training will reinforce the importance of incorporating accessibility into your documents, as well as test your formatting skills. Please join us!
